Q. Is our data backed up on a separate tape to other customers data? What is the overwrite policy?
A. The hosted service provides for a series of backups to be made. The Domino server is "clustered" and all data is replicated to a redundant server for immediate backup purposes. This server is then backed up on a daily basis, with a standard data backup and tape rotation cycle (daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, annual, etc) being maintained. The application instance restricts access to the folders on each server to the user ID's specified. The data is encrypted at all locations and requires the appropriate private key encryption within the user ID in order to open the file via the Notes Client.
The application hosting service has administrative access in order to administer the users on the server, but the database files present on the server are monitored only to see that their structure is right. The hosting provider is also bound by the terms of service to a confidentiality agreement.
